We noted the $39 B loss at GM in a recent post. Now analysts say operations are worse not better.
Note the use of the term continuing operations. We emphasize long term trendsin our presentations, that is what is failing to improve at GM.

Will an Indiana Jones type event emerge to save GM and Ford or are we simply slip sliding away?

    Professor Elam,
In my opinion it looks like GM is going to keep on heading in the wrong direction. Because GM was to optimistic on its future earnings they were forced to write down billions of dollars. They need to change their strategy maybe in a way similar to the way Ford’s Chief Executive Officer Alan Mulally is trying to push the company.

GM had the write down because they did not earn ANY money, not just because of optimism. Okay you say they need to change strategy, Ford is just now making a bit of money or so they say,
what would you have GM realistically do?
Please address a strategy for their divisions
    Chevy
    Pontiac
    Buick
    Cadillac
    Corvette
    GMC truck
Also address dealer issues (gee what does that mean) and foreign markets. At the moment GM as bet big on hydrogen vehicles.
