Walter Williams points out that Warren Buffet with all his money cannot make us do anything. However a government bureaucrat with a few regulations behind him or her, is quite powerful. Is there any stopping such a government?  Good ethical question.

There is no worse tyranny than a bad law.

John Stossel points out that at least Madoff had to convince people to give him money. That is hardly the case for social security and medicare. There is no way any state insurance commissioner would approve social security as an 'insurance' plan. Yet there is no way you can opt out of it. Is that ethical?
