The Dallas Museum of Art no doubt thought it hit the long ball and would make lots of money off the traveling King Tut exhibit. Indeed it had to bid, on a fixed cost basis no doubt, to get teh Exhibit. Well guess what, seems attendance is down. Another example of lack of demand but the debt against projected demand did not decrease. So the King is on sale, so to speak….the below from the Museum web site.

With families forced to live on smaller budgets, it is no wonder the King Tut exhibit is experiencing low attendants. Families like myself are looking for the best bang for our buck. This week when deciding what to do with the children during spring break, I looked at where can we go for as little money possible. Like in San Antonio, the DFW area has theme parks that offer season passes. In my deciding what to do with the children I looked at several factors. Last year we visited one of the local theme parks on 15 different occassions, and had a picnic lunch each time. The cost broke down to less than $5 per visit per person. At this time $15 for a one time visit would not seem cost effective for my bunch.
