Meanwhile British Petroleum, aka Amoco, is doing much better. Shell used to be one of the best, then execs mismanaged and misrepresented reserves resulting in investor distrust of Shell. 

The international oil business is necessarily a long term proposition. Ethics matter. Short term lies about real assets can have long term consequences.
