Murdoch's Newscorp owns the WSJ, it is considering listing WSJ articles only on MSFT Bing.

Bing, huh?  This is the latest in a never ending series of catch up attempts by MSFT, opening MSFT stores mimicing Apple is another.  Google is the run away winner with 65% of searches, even with Yahoo, another failed effort, MSFT will fall short.

I mentioned in cost class last night that MSFT was not successful when viewed via a Balanced Scorecard.

While MSFT makes lots of money continually asking us to pay for their never ending re do of Windows, the stock price never goes over 30, there is a reason.

How do you feel about their market approach using Microsoft “Signature” on the PCs in their retail store to bypass some of the rulings of their monopoly case?

MSFT is claiming this is a clean experience and indeed is selling PCs at its two new stores. This sounds like an end run around the fact that PCs have open architecture, so the inevitable junk will come once smeone gets home anyway.
I don’t have an opuion on their strategy other than to offer the observation that PCs are to this generation what televisions were to the last two, now they are a low priced commodity, people care little about brand name as far as I can tell, a Vizio is an LG is a Sony, likewise a Dell is an HP is an Accer
This is not the case for Apple that now occupies the high respect once accorded products like the Sony Trinitron tv, the only tv that ever broke out of the pack of cathode ray tubes in perception
The iPod, iTunes, mac interface works, I use iPhoto and it is certainly superior to anything comparably simple on Pcs for photos, yes I realize what Photoshop is, I mean simple…
