Please read this article on THe Big Mac Index. It is a real world alterantive on valuing currencies in different countries. Introduced in the Economist in 1986, it cmpares the relative values ofa  Big Mac in two countries. 

We will be sutdying derivatives this semester and this is an excellent way to frame the discussion.
