One way for a manufacturer to economize is to cut the amount in the box or produce smaller versions of the same product. I guess things are getting tought at Girl Scouts, look what has happened to what used to be a cookie, today breath mint size. Ys that is a quarter next to the cookie!
Last weekend as I came out of a restaurant with my boys, we came across a Girl Scout stand i purchased a couple boxes for them. We actually bought the Samoa and I really didn’t even consider the size. It would be interesting to see a comparison of Girl Scout cookies from the past to Girl Scout cookies of today. Also the shrinking of Girl Scout cookies goes against other articles I’ve read that indicated portions of many products were increasing in size.

I would like to see the waist size from where the quarter was unpocketed. I echo Mr. Hall and would also like to see the nutritional content from boxes of today versus past.

I’ve noticed that the boxes have gotten smaller and the prices keep climbing over the years. My daughter was in the Scouts, and now has joined again for community service points with her high school egineering program. As long as people keep buying, their production will keep pushing more out at higher prices. No rocket scientist here, but sounds like a booming business to me. Just picked up 10 boxes of mints alone for 1 co-worker choc mint junkie. Ha ha, sucker.
