All levels of government particularly at the top are staffed by individuals who don Harry Potter's invisibility Cloak and appear and disappear from the public to the private sector. Here is a report on how even low level staffers at the SEC find lobbying jobs in the afterlife of SEC employment. Generals and admirals routinely are employed by defense contractors as lobbyists. Alelxader Haig moved from NATO commander to head of a big defense firm and back to Secretary of State. The upcoming SEC Commissioner has a history of defending clients accused of something by the SEC.

Notice the SEC has brought in expert in Collateralized Debt Obligaions, ie derivatives, a topic I have labored to generate interest in among the classes. If the SEC realizes this is important, so should you.

An Expert in CDO’s? is there such a thing? I doubt it. Or I should say if anyone more knowledgable then you is an expert then yes it does exist. It reminds me of the PPT scandal of the iraq and afghanistan deployments. The running joke (which was reality) was that unless you have a PPT no one would take your comments seriously. I tried to find the story but couldn’t. Anyway here goes an army ranger capt made up a power point of a one stick figure shooting another stick figure as his presentation to command his point, just because it is done in the format expected does not make it a good idea. Here is another example of trying to regulate which is a simple system of market forces, simply put if enough people take a bath on this stuff fewer people will enter the playing field. Oh btw that ranger got fired and left the service shortly thereafter.
