Kirk Tuck usually has a reflection worth reading. This one is not exception. Or as Apple might put it,
Think Different.
Reflecting back over my life I am reminded of a Gail Sheehy comment.
Poor People think about Tuesday all day Tuesday. Rich People think in terms of decades.
Where do you want to be in ten years. What would help you get there.
Answer, plan to conquer a certified exam now. Use all the resources you have here, like the professors and the library and the free use of review texts.
Everyone else is 'gonna get around to studying for such exams later.'
Just two weeks ago the Dad of one of or our grads updated me on his son's progress on the CPA exam. He had missed passing all four parts in 18 months, so he had to start all over. He has two parts passed now. He is, my estimate, probably three or four years out of school That is the hard way. Mine is the easy way, it might not seem easy, but it is easier than waiting until you are all alone and working and without the support net of multiple professors, other students, and review material.
Oh well…..
