The Accounting Education Foundation of the Texas Society of CPAs is pleased to announce that we are accepting scholarship applications for the 2017-18 academic year. Last year, the foundation awarded 49 scholarships of $2,500 each to students intending to earn the CPA credential. This year the Foundation has budgeted 50 scholarships. Your school is allowed a maximum of six applications. We ask that you follow these steps in connection with this scholarship program:

Distribute the application link https://secure.tscpa.org/aef/aefnewapp.asp to the students eligible to receive the scholarship. The student must complete and submit the application online.

Upon receipt of a student’s application, a “TSPCA Official Scholarship Nomination Form” will be forwarded to the department chair. This form must be submitted for the student to be eligible for consideration.

Applicants must submit a current official transcript to: Accounting Education Foundation, 14651 Dallas Parkway, Suite 700, Dallas, Texas 75254-7408.
The selection committee will not consider an application unless an official transcript has been received. If the applicant has attended more than one university, the cumulative college transcript should show grades and credit received from all previous schools. If such transcript does not show a previous record, than a separate transcript (or transcripts) will be required.

Applicants must submit evidence that an Application of Intent to take the CPA Exam has been filed with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. The evidence should be sent to: Accounting Education Foundation, 14651 Dallas Parkway, Suite 700, Dallas, Texas 75254-7408.

The deadline for receiving applications and all supporting documents is September 30, 2017. Awards will be made during the fall semester and will be sent to the school for disbursement to the student.

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

We appreciate your efforts in making this scholarship program a success and look forward to receiving applications from your students. Please contact Jeanne Miller at jmiller@tscpa.net if you have any questions on the application procedures.
