Please join me in congratulating Cindy Ruiz on her selection as the Campus Rep for Texas A&M University-San Antonio by the Texas Society of CPAs and the San Antonio CPA Society.

A total of eight accounting majors indicated their interest in taking on this responsibility, which is a record response to the call that was issued last Tuesday and Wednesday during our presentations on campus. Thank you to everyone who applied and thank you to the faculty for their support of these students and their professional goals.

I hope that Cindy can reach out to you, as needed, to help spread the word about opportunities for accounting majors to interact with TSCPA/SACPAS.

In fact, we are offering a special program in conjunction with AICPA and Becker Professional Education next Thursday, February 15, at 12:30 pm to view a web cast of The Essential Guide to the CPA Exam Blueprints. In addition to the webcast, there will be a live presentation by Becker account manager Meredith Harigan regarding Becker’s incorporation of the Blueprints into their exam review study materials. A drawing will be held for a 50-percent-off Becker review scholarship bundle as well as study flash cards.  Pizza and soft drinks will be served.
