Meet the Firms Night
Tuesday, October 5 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. (in-person) 

Location: CAB Vista Room 402

**Meet the Firms is a collaboration between the Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement, College of Business and CPA Society Student Chapter that is hosted twice a year. This event was developed as an open conversation networking opportunity between current students, alumni, faculty and working professionals in the accounting and finance community. Come learn about some of the fantastic full-time and internship opportunities that are available to current students & alumni.

Okay I posted the announcement. My  past experience observing these things is that it is an atmosphere of absolute chaos. Students appear in all manner of attire, they wave around resumes, sort of demand a sorta kinda interview on the spot, and well it is all out in the open in contravention of any sort of privacy about your records.

The better idea

wear business casual

do not bring a resume

bring a  business card, make that lots of cards,  with your name, major, expected graduation date, e mail, and cell number

list any campus organizations or activities on your card

ask for an interview at their office

ask for their business card and send a thank you e mail when you get home

Many firms avoid these things for all the reasons listed above
