Nancy Ozuna and Anna Marie Parker will present at 4 00 PM this Thursday October 4 in Room 173Aof the STEM building.
Nancy is a member of BKD National Construction & Real Estate Group and leads the San Antonio office construction and real estate practice as well as its employee benefit plan practice. She has over 20 years of diverse audit and accounting experience including serving real estate developers, manufacturing, distribution and retail industry clients, as well as being a firm-wide resource in the employee benefit plan arena. Her expertise also includes HUD compliance audits and low-income housing credit (LIHTC) projects. Nancy’s expertise with benefit plan audits includes local plans sponsored by the nation’s largest municipally owned energy utility, public companies, master trusts, including plans with commingled funds, real estate, defined benefit, defined contribution, health and welfare plans as well as 11-K filings, U.S. Department of Labor notices, IRS exams, plan 
terminations and conversions, plan consents and forms 5500 and 5330.
She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She serves as a board member for The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Alumni Association, on the UTSA Alumni Annual Gala Committee and as a member of the UTSA College of Business Advisory Board. The San Antonio Business Journal named Nancy one of San Antonio’s “40 under 40.” She also was selected for the 36th class of The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce 2011 Leadership San Antonio program. Her other community service includes being a North San Antonio Chamber board member and the audit committee chair for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas. Nancy is a 1993 graduate of UTSA, with a B.B.A. degree and a 1995 graduate with an M.Acc. degree.

In a corporate take over one never wants to be the takee. The result is is never good. Marathon's purchase of Andeavor may mean the refiner is relocated to Findlay, Ohio. Andeavor has some 1,500 employees in SA and occupies a huge complex at north 281 and 1604.
but perhaps this puts a valuable property on the market to entice another firm to move to SA.

Ed Lampert continues to prove he may be a fund manager but he is not a retailer. He has been selling what is of value like the Craftsman and Kenmore names. Now he is floating various schemes trying to keep what is left a float.
One is a stock in exchange for outstanding debt deal which would be bankruptcy without the court.
Another is trying to sell store real estate and if unsuccessful, let the bond holders exchange for the real estate.
Lampert has consistently refused to invest in the stores themselves and this is the result. Originally hailed as the next Buffet, he instead shows no understanding of retail and what drives shoppers to stores.
It is ironic that Sears literally invented catalog shopping. Now we have on line shopping, the same thing but with an electronic catalog and Sears is gone.
