I thought you would find this explanation of what makes someone a valuation expert  interesting.

Hill and Ford I am proud to say are good friends of the TAMUSA College of Business.

A few months back I suggested the Corinthian 100 Protest would take the student debt crisis to a new level.

Well sure enough, the govt is planning to forgive a lot of the recent Corinthian debt.

Now that the gate is down, how many more students will rationalize why their debt too should be forgiven.

Merrill Lynch was fined for violating a rule regarding short sales.  The 'fine' was $9 M and they gave up $1.6 M n profits, I wonder how those numbers were determined?

But here is our TBTF Too Big to Fail example of a firm once again.

Amazingly after being one hour away from disappearing during the financial crisis, millions of people still trust this firm. Yet as in this example, they are continually doing something they know is wrong.

Will anyone at Merrill lose their job?  Of course not. Will anyone lose a securities license, apparently not?

Did ML admit to wrong doing or just pay the fine?

This is the sort of thing that makes teaching ethics difficult. What is ethical is what you can get away with in the big leagues.

    How is your Parkour?

Parkour is a combination of  gymnastics put to practical use scaling walls or descending from improbable places.

    Take a look!

Notice all these pictured look to be about the same age as those guys riding motorcycle fifteen feet above the ground in round the round motorcycle contests in various coliseums. The first requirement here is to honestly believe that you are not flesh and blood but re actually produced by the Rubbermaid Company.

This is a great stop lapse video of construction of a wind turbine.

Here is an example of OJT, there are a few crane programs at community colleges.

I am guessing these fellows are well compensated for what they do, expensive equipment to be sure, notice the delicate maneuvering by the crane to line up the multiple bolts with their respective receptacles.

H-P will split into two companies.  One will be the PC hardware side, the other the newer high tech e everything side.

And H- will be taking first one billion in GAAP charges and then a second big bite of perhaps $2 billion. Sounds like a real house cleaning. It turns out Meg Whitman is not the 'celebrity CEO' that some claimed. Rather she has turned H-P around and brought the stock price back up.

I always say that every spring when it is time to teach ethics, I never run out  of new examples.

Here is how you make the Barron's Top  100 financial Advisor List.

Have an affair with a wealthy client, run 12,000 unauthorized trades in five years through his account Screen Shot 2015-05-21 at 4.54.34 PMgenerating $40  M in commissions, and then let the Bank defend you.

Ami Forte at right is making big headlines for all the wrong reasons. The widow is suing Morgan Stanley, big time.

I hope we will not see any TAMUSA grads in this situation.
