Deb Alvarado our Becker CPA Review rep has provided this link. It is a sample of what the actual lectures are in a Becker CPA review class.

Private U.S. colleges, worried they could be pricing themselves out of the market after years of relentless tuition increases, are offering record financial assistance to keep classrooms full.

The average "tuition discount rate"—the reduction off list price afforded by grants and scholarships given by these schools—hit an all-time high of 45% last fall for incoming freshmen, according to a survey being released Monday by the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

"It's a buyer's market" for all but the most select private colleges and flagship public universities, said Jim Scannell, president of Scannell & Kurz, a consulting firm in Pittsford, N.Y., that works with colleges on pricing and financial-aid strategies.

Colleges have believed in the Holy Grail of Inelasticity of Demand for their product for the last three decades. Tuition has relentelessly increased. Now my prediction of turn in that tidal wave is on the horizon. Private colleges are scrambling to hold on to students. This may be an advantage for TAMUSA with its lowest in the local market rates.

    Weekend May 5 2013

Apparently the bar exam is not nearly as difficult as one might think. Here are the latest pass rates for Texas Law Schools. Baylor tops the list at 95% with Texas Southern dead last at 66%.

66% is an interesting number in that is about the highest pass rate for any Accounting Program on the CPA exam. Most are about half the 95% of Baylor which is to say the high 40s.

Apparently most students either think I am conjuring all this up or that this is something that just will not happen to them. The degree or preparation is incredibly high, much more so than anything you have encountered in school before.

Masters in Accounting  has published my idea for  building a Ladder of Success on certified exams. I firmly believe that pursuing such a course of action would remarkably improve one's pass rate success on certified exams.

    Weekend April 28 2013

Mesquites were not native to Texas. But cattle consumed the mesquite beans and along the trail did what cattle do. The result was that this pesky tree bush is now all over West and South Texas. it sucks most of the sub surface water away from the grasses. And it is near impossible to erradicate.

Now a Czech company, Green Heart Energy is harvesting mesquites. Green Heart mulches   the branches for shipping purposes. It turns out the mulch produces as an energy level between brown and black coal, with
Screen Shot 2013-04-28 at 10.11.32 AM ess pollution. Mesquites will be harvested within 100 miles of Corpus Christi. This keep transportation costs low to ship to Europe out of Port Corpus Christi.

Green Heart will headquarter in San Antonio, no doubt for the airport. Green Heart plans to be in San Antonio and operating by June of this year.

The irony is that Green Heart has to pay to harvest the mesquite that the ranchers would otherwise have had to pay to remove themselves. How is that for irony?

Microsoft peaked in market cap in 1999. Here is an interesting comparison between Apple and MSFT. Both have lots of cash and market share. But after peaking in 1999 MSFT stock has gone nowhere even with a dividend. This article notes that Apple is liable to repeat the pattern.

There are many refernces to stock buy backs and dividend payments both of which we have been studying in ACCT 3312, take a read.

Yep just mount the latest wi fi enabled Hero 3 Go Pro underneath the coptor, and with its 300 m range, you will have coverage of your neighborhood.  If I read correctly the Hero Three will transmit to your phone or tablet for continuous feedback during your surveillance.

I can imagine that a few nieghbors might feel their privacy was invaded, and at this price of course there is no kevlar armor protection.

This nano technology is getting quite interesting.
