$270 Billion in student lons are 30 days delinquent.
We maintain that the trillion of student loans will be the sub prime crisis for the next financial meltdown. It may have begun already. While a dilapidated shack in Tornto or Detroit can lose most of its value, the dirt under the house should be worth something.
This of course is not the case for a student loan.
There is not collateral-only hours of college.
And the borrower is likely a zero asset person, now perhaps on food stamps.
But Barack has our back on this one, right, now that the Federal Govt via hte Family Fedearl Education Program FFELP guarantees the loans.
The hyper link is to a lenghty and informative artcle that should be read.

If you have not, go back and read our March 15 explanation of why Hunger Games would resonate with the public. The first wekend it grossed $155 Million.
That is about what The Dark Knight did its first wekend in 2008. Investors beware, rushing to see a government dictated teen gladiator combat is negative social mood for sure.

Quick now what does CSRC stand for? If you said China Securities Regulatory Commission, move to the head of the class. Volume on three Chinese futures excahnges reached $21.9 trillion last year.. Not bad for a group of Communists, eh?
We will be disucssing futures and options later in Intermed II this semester.

Here is a really interesting look at the replication of the Hillary expedition at Mt. Everest. Then Edmund
and a Sherpa made it. They used pencil and paper and a Kodak retina rangefinder to record the event.
Take a look at how things have chamged, a Canon digital camera and an iPad will accompany this team.

This article details that Japan has stayed a supplier to firms like Apple rather than becoming a leader like Apple or Samsung.
This is an exc ellent example of how Sony lost the race. Decades ago, Sony was the Apple of its day. Its Trinitron tv was the best. It invented the Walkman, the analog forerunner of the iPod. And then, it bought a movie studio and lost its way.
Thousands of US servicemen returned from Viet Nam with high grade stereos from Sansui, Yamaha, Marantz and others. RCA had lost the day. Yamaha is still around but sells surround sound tv systems in Best Buy, hardly a competitor to the American made MacIntosh it once was.
This is an excellent article on leadership and design.

We have had some fun kidding students about the social stigma of showing up to yoga class in an Old Navy or Target outfit, oh the horror!
LULU apparel of course will let your other yoga partners know that you have arrived, not discount exercise wear for you! LULU went public in 2007 and has amassed an amazing 10 B market cap. One of the key is not discounting merchandise and letting shoppers know it is limited. The CEO is in the stores getting feedback from customers.
Interesting, did any one else see this niche coming?
LULU trades at a 65 price to earnings ratio.
