Prosecutors ask for 15 years for Holmes
Holmes' attorneys filed an 82-page document late Thursday calling for a lenient sentence of no more than 18 months, saying her reputation was permanently destroyed, turning her into a "caricature to be mocked and vilified."
that's a hoot, she did it to herself so why have pity on her?

Yesterday, the Socionomics Foundation Board approved a motion to start a grant program that will support professors in their efforts to speak at conferences and to pursue other engagements for the purpose of sharing socionomics research with academics and other professionals.
The Board voted to make you the inaugural recipient of the grant program and authorized a $4,000 grant to you for the aforementioned purpose.
Moreover, the grant program will be named in your honor: Elam grants.
We are optimistic that Elam grant recipients will make a significant impact on the history of socionomics in forthcoming years by conducting and sharing important research that will inform society’s understanding of how social mood influences the tenor and character of social trends.
On behalf of the Board, we wish you many congratulations and hope you will find a moment to celebrate.

McGraw Hill has sent me to two book review conferences. Each time they had a driver with car meet me at the airport. Going down the elevator to the luggage claim he was there with a sign saying Dennis.What a great perk, no hassle, he knew where he was going all I had to do was relax in the back seat That is the ticke.

A federal judge denied Elizabeth Holmes’s bid for a new trial, the latest setback for the Theranos Inc. founder who was convicted of fraud in January.
U.S. District Judge Edward Davila, who oversaw Ms. Holmes’s trial which began last year, said in a ruling late Monday that the arguments in her three motions for a new trial didn’t introduce material new evidence or establish government misconduct, adding that a new trial was unlikely to result in an acquittal.
Ms. Holmes is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 18. Earlier Monday, a court probation officer submitted a presentence report, an investigation into Ms. Holmes’s legal and personal background.
