The Governator has hired the LA City Comptroller to oversee the Federal money coming to Caliornia, good idea. No doubt he has watched the bankers et al unable to account for where the money went and does not want to be in that situation.
Here is another example of how the economy, at its worst, generates jobs for accountants.

That is interesting that you say that about accountants because I remember reading an article some time back and it said the number one profession that can survive during a recession is accounting. So it seems like there will always be work for us.

I agree, although accountants are the first ones they look at for answers when anything goes wrong, and also the first ones to go.

Actually I would say the sales dept is more subject to abrupt dismassals than the accounting dept
though this can result in disaster at places like GM where they hired accountants from Proctor and Gamble who turned cars into toothpasteLikeLike
