John Kerry reporting for duty, again, this time for newspapers. Worried that the 'diversity of opinion' will suffer without the Boston Globe (that never met a Democrat it did not like) Kerry plans hearings for the newspaper industry. If the idea of the Feds running Fannie Mae and GM is not enough, how about the newspaper industry?

The Left and Elitist Intelligencia only wish that they had monopolistic control over the media like they had back in the days of Walter Kronkite and when the newspaper editorial commanded public opinion. It is amusing that they are concerned over diversity of opinion when the markets have rejected what they have to offer. Back in the day, there was no diversity of opinion, only what THEY had to offer. Well…markets have evolved and the hoi polloi, as they see us, have rejected their material like bilge water from the bottom of a ocean liner.

In adition the internet allows universal expression of opinion like this blog, by posting your own opinion you help determine the content, this was never the case with newspapers where the editor picks the letters that will be printed and even then the letters section only comprises about 1% of the newspaper, admittedly among those I have seen the Dallas paper tries to have various community opinions but still they get to pick and choose the winners. Talk radio is much the same, indeed why is walter conkrite any more qualified to speak on this issue than we are, indeed….
