the New Compensation Czar has been appointed.

Expect teh government to meddle in all sorts of issues related to 'pay.' like where they guys and gals and live and certainly when they can fly if at all on the company plane. This is ridiculous, the company plane allows one to get to smaller cities where plants can be operated more economically and commercial aviation does not serve the area.

No wonder som many want to give back the TARP money so soon, but I suspect the door has been opened here. Sadly genuine crooks like Fuld at Lehman ($300 M) got away not to mention Franklin Raines at FNM ($160 M). Now everyone else suffers.

Real people build and service aircraft. Real people work at hotels and resorts. Those are the ones that lose their jobs when such restricutions come into play. Airplanes are about saving time, if you doubt it just fly commercial, I no longer do. No I do not have a plane but in the future I will be driving or they can offer skype or gotomeeting.com.

This does seem to me to be a ridiculous response to public outcry. The general public cries about the person working right next to them that does twice as much work and gets .50 more an hour than they do. Why? Because who cares if they get more done I have been here longer. But hey something had to be done after everyone found out about the AIG bonus payouts.
It has been my experience that you fire the people who lead you into the mess and hire better leaders that most often cost more money (if they didn’t you would have already hired them). Instead we are trying to somehow get the old leaders to correct their own mistakes and incentives them to do it by paying them less. This sounds like a stellar plan, maybe one day we will all work hard enough to get to a position where the federal government will restrict our pay too. Something to look forward.

The government is a business and they reglate and enforce what they see fit to keep their business (America) ahead. Although if you’ve noticed America is quickly becoming a country that no other country would invest in. Why must the government bailout big businesses? They should treat it like this… it’s your businees, if you fail to keep it afloat no matter if you change CEOs then your businees deserves to be bought out by someone or simply close down. If an oil company fails, so be it, there’s many other oil companies to take up the slack. In my eyes a big company failing is only making way for another and possibly better company to come up. who knows maybe that new company will be innovative enough to bring the USA up to where we used to be.

The massive social safety nets erected by the govts are now a huge barrier to letting companies go under, GM is the perfect example. The suppliers and dealer collapse would put people out of work all over America and then they all claim unemployment and bank loans fail. If the govt is going to bail out GM and make it a jobs program, indeed, why close dealers that are and have been in business successfully. AS it is the Democrats are out to save jobs in the midwest for the next election, just that simple.
