Oh men, like Africa needs somebody else to exploit them. I know it will be good for us, but the question is, if we or China invest in Africa, would we be helping Africa to better its economic situation for a lot of their people, or would we just be taking advantage of their needs. I am not saying that the US will, but what about China?

China is helping China not Africa. Suitcases of money buy off dictators in commodity rich countries no questions asked, the money goes to numbered bank accounts and the people continue to live in the worst conditions on the planet.
China unlike the US does not make any human rights demands in exchange for investment, a typical dictator driven model.

Of course, that is the main reason they want to invest, but many times when you invest in another country, you also help the country you are investing in right? Let’s take the US for example, a lot of people from outside were investing in the US, and that helps our economy right? So it should be the same for Africa, but the problem is that when they see countries that don’t know better, they end up being taken advantage of.

I would have to agree with Felix. Felix mentions that most people here in the US are investing now that the economy is not doing that well and that stock prices are at its all time low. It would be hard to say what people are doing in Mexico or in Germany knowing what they have gotten themselves into.
