WoW! that is a huge decrease. The company i work for actually reduced how many days they send us shipment (merchandise) from everyday throughout the week to 2 or 3 times a week at the most. We even used to send them our paperwork every week and it went down to bi-monthly and now we’re down to once a month and we use both UPS and Fedex. But what can I say shipping this off is kinda expensive and when it ges down to cutting some costs the least important are the door first.

In the book I am reading ‘How the Mighty Fall’ they talk about mergers such as the one here with Fed Ex, and Kinkos. Intersting enough they point out that they do it in hopes to revitalize their business, however in most cases it ends up being a bad move. As you can see here the 900 million dollar write down helps that point out.

This is precisely the reason I have asked all of you to finish your books by June 22, Jim Rogers points out most mergers do not work, having bought it, Fed Ex has already moved to discard the name Kinkos and now is writing off I suppose the rest of their investment. Another case of a CEO just doing something to show he did something on his watchLikeLike

Talking about a reduction in the shipment of purchases or even USPS, I have a neighbor who is a USPS carrier, and he is saying that we will be getting less and less mail each day and eventually will be cutting back on mail service on Saturdays to cut down on the costs of the service since it is really getting expensive in ways of shipping small packages or even to mail out a simple letter. That is why a lot of people are using electronic mail or even electronic bill payments to save on the costs of stamps.
