A couple of posts back I described my difficulty in attempting to pay my apt rent.

Today, Sunday, they actually called me back, I had sent an e mail.  the young lady attempted to explain the bizzare reasoning behind shutting the mail drop, I was on the cell and it missed me. She also allowed that two days a week someone was in the office by 8"30, and they stay till 7 PM.

Well that's a start…

I had the same problem a while back when I was living in an apartmetnt complex. I gave them two months heads up that I wanted to renew my lease, well after six months of getting no where I decided to leave with out telling them. Well that was wrong of me. I didn’t get my deposit back, I was told that I had broken the lease when realty it was over six months ago. I never got my lease renew. I was asked for life insurance, stock papers, 401 k papers, and everything else like I was buying the apartment. I called daily to see what day was I supposed to go to the office to sign papers, well the story was we are still working on your file. I gave up and left. the funny thing is that after two months of leaving I got a called from the manager telling me when was a good time fo me to come in to sign my renewal papers.

Many apartment complex offices fail to let their leasers know important deatails that end up costing them. Of course I try my best to call them up and make sure they receive my rent along with other things. But, they should do their job and keep us up to date with important information.

It is funny how we are on the topic of an apartment not calling you. Look at an auto loan, they do not call you either, until it is later. Also at a bank, you do not get a call until you are overdrawn then the bank attempts to call. Or even a credit card payment on the weekend. Of course I get these complaints a lot. The added fees are a mean of income for that company. Usually a loan has some sort of grace period though.

AT&T was the same way. When staying online to listen..hehe, I heard many times the billing department inform long time customers that their bills have been due the same day every month and had not changed for the time they have been a customer. They did not attempt to call customers period. The customer would be the one to call, of course from another line once their phone line was already disconnected. Its funny how many companies try the same excuse.
