I have been wondering when where who would finally make inexpensive video conferencing a reality.

It looks lke the competition between Google and Facebook will make this happen.

This article relates that video conferencing is available on Google now called Hangout. Facebook will roll out a one on one in short order. I would guess group conferencing will follow.

This has huge implications for meetings and travel. I can see a lot more of this in big areas like San Antonio where it is difficult to drive around a city intra day without a lot of lost time. I expect this ti be rather like what has happened in storage devices as we can now say good bye to
