I have mentioned the interesting article in Fast Company on The Great Tech War of 2012.

Yesterday in class I noted that

Facebook

Google

Apple

Amazon

do not succeed because  of a patent ( though I am sure Apple has patented the Iphone) or copyright or some such. This is in contrast to Kodak, Xerox, or Polaroid that depended on such things for their success. A most interesting article, please read it.

Article states that hardly anybody knows who is the CEO of Exxon Mobil, but this article also states that most people know who are the CEOs of Facebook, Apple, and I believe this includes Microsoft. I guess this is because gasoline is just for getting to work and school, but the computer companies gives the people more fun and enjoyment. Computer companies contribute to society by making us more inform of the world, as where the gas companies just takes our money with no return to humankind. Most people know mind that Facebook CEO makes billions of dollars a year for its company. As where gas and oil companies really don’t compete with each other or make the average citizens’ life better. However, the computer companies do the opposite, there want to make the average citizens’ life better and they want to compete with each other. For example, the article states that Google is planning on making its own social network called “Google +” and competing against Facebook. The oil & gas companies make my wallet empty, as where the computer companies make me gain knowledge of the World.

See the USA in your Chevrolet! Oil and gas companies don’t just make my wallet empty, they literally move me. Your life is not better because of an oil company, how did you get to campus tonight?
I heard a presentation by a student our Rotary Club had sponsored to the Soviet Union. He nearly froze to death as there was no heat in his building. Russians will do anything for electricity, something we take for granted.
Phil have you ever spent a day working on a pulling unit? After a week of that you would appreciate what oil companies do for us, and how cheap gasoline is.
