Try as they might, MSFt has yet to dent the Apple juggernaut.   And then there is the Google Android Chrome juggernaut.  I see Google Chromebook for $249.

A few years ago everyone assumed that Wal Mart and Dell and HPQ were here to stay. Now Dell and HPQ are in or near single digits for their stock price and MSFT simply cannot get traction with any new product.

It's tought to stay on top. Of all the players notice that Bill Gates was shrewd enough to exit early and not tarnish his boy wonder image as MISFT floundered. Mike Dell, the succession of CEOs at HPQ, and Steve Ballmer cannot say the same thing. It is very important to know when to exit.

An article in Kiplinger’s Magazine: Ten stock picks for 2013, by James K. Glassman. Money manager James Roumell believes he has a winner with Dell. Roumell states: Dell, derives 2/3 of earnings from software, services, and servers. He also key notes that, Dell stock price is cheap right now; trades are just 5 times earnings (estimation) in the year ending January 2014!

there is another positive comment on Dell in the WSJ today, it is heavily oversold and due for a bounce. Like MSFT it will lumber on, but from single digits a move to $13 would be a nice percentage return.
