Texas Tech  will be the first University in Texas to establish a separate School of Accounting. This puts accounting on an equal footing with their law and medical schools. This only makes sense.

My take is that the smaller schools around the state would be better off to focus on Certified Internal Audit or Certified Management Accounting  at the undergrad level. This would serve their student populations much better. The graduate programs at larger schools that can afford to really staff such grad programs could focus on CPA.

hmmmm I wonder I wonder, nah if I am going to travel to pad my education background with a “school of accounting” I might as well get something ivy league or so honored that it just jumps off the page ie “Wharton”. Texas Tech? not so much.
Here is how I see it playing out in the resume screening process small pile “wharton” bigger pile “ivy league” or other major schools, biggest pile grads from all other schools weather or not from a school of buisness.
