The Texas Comptroller has announced the Sales Tax Holiday is moved back a week. Notice the emphasis this gets. Now if repealing sales taxes for a few days stimulates, sales, imagine how much a general tax reduction would increase sales! Why not less government, less taxes, more sales? Hello Milton Friedman
August 9-11: New 2013 Sales Tax Holiday Dates
The recent passage of Senate Bill 485 (83rd Regular Legislative Session, 2013)changes the dates of this year's annual Sales Tax Holiday to Aug. 9-11, a week earlier than previously scheduled. The law became effective immediately.
The Sales Tax Holiday gives Texas shoppers a break from state and local sales taxes on most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100. Shoppers can save up to $8.25 for every $100 they spend.
