IN a previous post this week and in class I asked if anyone knew who Bill Gross or PIMCO was the firm he founded? No one did but I was spot on as to the big event of the week. The previous hyper link details Bill's bad year.
The WSJ and CNBC say Gross was about to be fired anyway. There is nothing quite so dangerous as the inability to keep one's mouth shut, remember Jimmy Hoffa and George Patton? And Bill has been quite guilty of that lately.
His tenure and what he created is quite impressive, and that feels like an understatement. They always say you should not try to fit a square peg into a round hole. Perhaps he should have let others manage, so he could do what he did best. I wonder if they tried an organizational psychologist before they all lost their cool and parted ways.

I seriously doubt anyone in the place would tell 2x billionaire Gross that he needed an industrial shrink….

It will be interesting to see how things progress for both PIMCO and his new employer. Perhaps those future reports will tell us who should have sought some counsel.
